Richard is a Class A Building Contractor (Class A License #2705 036811A) which is the highest level licensing available for contractors in Virginia. Richard is the heart and soul of Lensis Builders, and brings over 40 years of solid design/build experience to every project. He has the perfect combination of structural and engineering expertise and an eye for creative architectural design solutions.
If you're considering adding to or remodeling your home, you probably have a lot of questions about where to start and what to expect. This is your home, your family, and a financial investment. We understand that the process can be a little intimidating at first. In order to help everyone understand what to expect, we have broken the entire process down into 8 different steps. We hope these easy to follow steps provide a clear understanding of the separate stages of a professional Design/Build project.
Our clients LOVE being able to come to our showroom and select all of their finish materials. Our showroom and selection center in Manassas displays the remodeling essentials and materials you'll want to see in person! We have a wide array of cabinetry styles, countertops, flooring options, shower door styles, faucets, decking samples, siding/brick/stone samples, porcelain tile, and much more. All under one roof and all with the design assistance of Richard and Stacy Lensis for material selection.
Everyone loves seeing a remodeling project transformation! The following are several videos we've made of various types of projects for your enjoyment! This beautiful contemporary kitchen in Fairfax, Virginia was created to provide both functionality and style. We removed the wall between the existing small Kitchen and boxy Dining Room to create one large, open space. The island was designed to trade extra floor space for more counter and storage space, while maintaining the ease of open floor plan entertaining.

When we found ourselves in a stressful time crunch over various home repairs required following a home inspection, Lensis Builders stepped in and handled them all with swift efficiency. This saved us from having to bring in multiple vendors (Roofing, HVAC, Electrician, etc.) They made the whole process simple for us. Stacy Lensis gracefully managed our pressing questions and timing needs, keeping us informed on all fronts. Richard Lensis personally reviewed the scope of work and took the team through each repair.
The team was on time, friendly, and focused. We've never been more pleased with a contracting experience, and have already booked Stacy's time to begin the process of remodeling the kitchen and master bath in our new home. The team from Lensis Builders really delivers on a project. We couldn't be more happy with the entire process. They worked with us on a design, then handled all the permits, and delivered exactly what we expected. Every person we met with was professional, true to their word, and committed to the project being on time and on budget. There are a lot of builders and re-modelers who promise the world and don't deliver.
You won't find that to be the case with Lensis Builders. We are already working on another idea for the house and I am 100% confident we will use Lensis for this project too.

Lensis built our 18x20' screened-in porch and large interior closet a year ago. They did an excellent job and we have had no problems with them. They customized the projects to our specifications and they came out just as we wanted. They kept to the budget and handled well the little glitches that always come up without nickel and diming us. John M., their lead carpenter, is very skilled, easy to work with, and always cleaned up the site each day.

We had our downstairs basement finally finished by Lensis. The idea was to give me storage and my spouse the theater of his dreams. We now have both. The most important thing when working with a contractor is to have the plans and the contract without any surprises during ther build. This we have with Rich and his guys. The build took 2 months but the workmanship and design is beautiful.
My spouse got his theater and I designed it. I too enjoy those Saturday Night movies too. We are so please and people who come to visit find it very difficult to get out of that room. The workmen were great but somethimnes they collided with each other for work space so I divided them up to work on the outside and some inside the house. I am very please with them.
I would use Lensis Builders for any contruction/remodel work I have done. I was home for most of the work and can't say enough about the pride and skill of his men. Rich is quite the saleman and support all our small changes throught the process. My neighbor used them too for their music studio in their basement. You can't go wrong with Lensis.

We have had Lensis Builders remodel four bathrooms and our basement wet bar. Richard and Stacy Lensis helped us make the most of our budget for each project and their guidance in the design and materials selection process was invaluable. The Lensis team has great relationships with their suppliers and Stacy keeps current with trends in remodeling design, so each remodel resulted in a product that fit with our home, yet was current in the marketplace.
