Second review here, want to share the phenomenal results Wall Doctor produced with our master bath. I own an older home in Seattle. As everyone knows, older homes are not easy to update but Wall Doctor did it! Gary and Jason were able to remove walls, keep everything structurally sound, and installed a modern bathroom in my older home. What a luxury, a modern, spacious bathroom in a 1937 Tudor!
The bathroom tile was installed perfectly. They helped me out on what colors & patterns to choose. I cannot say enough good things about Gary and his crew. I definitely plan to use them for future projects!

The Wall Doctor did a great job repairing my ceilings. I had more damage to the ceiling than originally thought because the original sheetrock installed 30 years ago was done incorrectly and started showing lots of cracks. The crew at The Wall Doctor had to replace and repair several areas. They did a quality job. But it looks great now!

Gary and Todd are phenomenal! My home is a 1934 Tudor in Magnolia. I needed to update the electrical wiring from knob and tube to romex. The electricians did their part but I needed the Wall Doctor to finish the job out. There were easily over 50 circular and rectangular wall cuttings in my home. Wall Doctor came in and repaired and painted all of them! You wouldn't even know the electrical project was done. Here are some before and after photo's. I hope to hire them again for future painting and remodeling.

I was pleased with my experience with The Wall Doctor. My wife and I recently purchased a house that needed electrical work done--meaning lots of holes in the wall. Given we were already going to need that all patched up and so on, we also decided to do some aesthetic upgrades throughout the basement. It was fairly easy to get somebody to come out to take a look and provide a quote, though we ended up adding a lot more to the scope of work afterward.
As far as the quality of the work goes, it was great. The patches from the electrical work are invisible and looks like nothing ever happened. They also reframed a wall, installed insulation, adjusted baseboards, readjust some of the window and door trim, and painted the entire basement. It looks great and we're happy with the result. The team also helped make sure we stayed on schedule as we had some follow-on work that needed to start on a certain date after the Wall Doctor was done and to avoid delaying us moving into the place. Ultimately, this led to their team staying until 10:00 pm or so on the final day, but it got done on schedule.
As for negatives, I would say they definitely are not the cheapest and can be pretty pricey. And as for the schedule, my understanding is part of the reason they got tight on the schedule was people calling in at the last minute on jobs from time to time. Overall, I think they are a good company doing quality work and if we ever need their services again, we'll consider using them in the future.

Things I liked: The process of booking was generally easy. The tech that was sent out was nice and did a great job patching the wall. Things I didn't like: the quote was for $250 my bill was $444. The wording in the contract covers the the contractor and leaves the charge open to how long the job takes. But on the phone the person I talked to who had seen a picture and the size of the hole said the $250 would cover the time spent on the job. Part of the reason I went with wall dr. Was their quote so it felt misleading to me. So not terrible, but not very transparent

We needed some lath/plaster done on a 1908 building. We hired the Wall Doctor to do a massive amount of work on two of the units that had tons of wall damage from water leaks. They came in under their estimate and the tenants remarked of how professional they were and they were good about cleaning up after they finished.

This company does a good job with the following caveats: 1. When you hire any contractor know that they are very busy and will be hard to get an estimate in a timely manner. I hope that all contractors will get better at this. The Wall Doctor is actually one of the better ones I have dealt with. 2. You need to talk to the scheduler directly if you have a specific schedule and be very clear about it.
A lot of these companies have to keep people busy so will send a guy to one job part of a day and another job part of a day. If you don't want this you have to talk to them and be very clear about dates and times up front. I did have some scheduling issues but you will have that with EVERY contractor in my experience. 3. They will charge you for going over 520 if you live in Seattle.
They are on the other side of the bridge. To minimize this expense see #2. 4. If on an hourly project you may want to track the time the people are in your house and which ones. 5. They charge for time and expense to haul away debris. If you want to reduce expense on a large project can do that yourself. The carpenter working for this company is really good at problem solving for custom projects.
If you have something complicated make sure he is there or the scheduler on the first day. Also do not expect any company to read instructions in advance or show up with required parts, in my experience. Plan for this extra time to figure things out. They are excellent at fixing dings in walls, etc. if you have a crack, damaged drywall or anything like that this company will fix it quickly. The hourly rates are reasonable. They broke a mirror. Without me asking -- they fixed it! Awesome. This is a good company.

Ok painting job, terrible customer service! about 4 years ago I had the wall doctor paint my house, I don't remember what went wrong but I was a bit unhappy with the job and wrote a review on yelp reflecting my personal experience, shortly afterwords I was involved in a plane crash and lost both my father and daughter, Gary had the unfortunate experience of calling and harassing me while I was in the hospital several times to change the yelp review.
Generally I try to give people a second chance, so when I purchased a new place recently and wanted all of the interiors painted, I called the wall doctor for a bid. I spoke with Gary. Gary brought up my dead child twice even though I attempted to not skirt the issue, he kept saying how they would like a second chance to prove they are not the company I think they are. Gary's people skills are atrocious and there is no way I am paying thousands of dollars to have someone make me feel terrible about my child.
Generally I think all a painting company needs to do is paint well, but truthfully just a little people skills are involved too. The hilarious thing is, I can't even find the review Gary was talking about, so here is a fresh one. Suffice to say, there are other painters in Seattle and I will be using one of them.

We have used The Wall Doctor three times over the last 12 years for fairly small jobs. Each time the project was done as scheduled and the workmanship was excellent. Communication was also very good. We have received an estimate every time so we knew exactly what the cost would be up front. For our recent project we were on a tight time frame and they were able to fit us in. If we have a need in the future we will use them again.

This project was on a very tight deadline and after our drywall installer had a family emergency, we were left with a single very significant room that needed to be prepped for painting the next day so that cabinets could get in the day after. We needed three coats of mud NOW! First of all, Getting a kind, patient, articulate and responsive person on the other end of the phone started us out in a great way. Rob W, the manager, acknowledged the urgency, got right down to trying to figure out how he could squeeze me into a very packed Seattle Summer renovation schedule. Thereafter, Every call, email & text was answered either immediately or with minutes with calm, clear and informative responses.
He got me the paperwork when he said he would, and follow-up questions with Jaycee, the administrator were equally easy. The worker they sent arrived exactly when they predicted he should, took a few minutes to answer some of my questions and got right to work. He stayed steady and promised he could get it done in the one day. It was me who offered him a coffee break and provided lunch because I was so grateful for this wonderful response to my urgent need. He even suggested some changes in the plan which could save me time and money. The results were great!

I needed a job done right away as house closing was coming up. Needed them to repair a crack in the ceiling that had already been repaired twice by non-professionials. I needed it done right and done quickly. They came out right away and completed the job within a week. I considered the price fair as I was paying for experts this time around. They did a fantastic job.
You would never know there was any problem with the ceiling, unlike the two other jobs upon completion. I was extremely happy with everyone involved and would use them again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Rob!

No good, at least for small projects. I need my disability shower to be cleaned, re-caulked, and sealed. An estimator came out fairly promptly and was real friendly. He promised me a formal estimate in a few days and job completion in two weeks. Two weeks go by and I don't even have an estimate. He claims he is busy in the "field". I guess my house is not in this "field".
I complain and ask for a firm completion date. He finally sends me a formal estimate, which is a contract, but refuses to agree on any completion date. He says that they will do the job when they get the time.

I have contracted the Wall Doctor to paint our house, it is still not painted and it has been extremely frustrating to deal with them. I originally met with Rob 5 and half weeks ago where he told me he would get me a quote for painting the entire inside of my house in two business days and they would start painting a week after I signed the contract.
It took me a week to get a quote, a week before I spoke with someone after they received a contract and a $3,300.00 deposit and I had to call them. Then they said it would be three more weeks before they would show up to paint. Originally Rob told me they would be here Monday, then he called and said they would be here Wednesday between 8:00am and 8:30am.
When they didn't show I called their office and the owner of the company, Gary, said they were going to give me a call before they showed up. This was never told to me, I canceled plans, rearranged my schedule, took all art work and tvs of the wall. So maybe they will show up tomorrow, like they said, who knows. I do know one thing, at this point I would never recommend them for any job.
I will be updating this review, here's to hoping they show and do a nice job painting. The Wall Doctor did show up the next day. Almost every day I had a different crew of painters, some of the painters where very good, and some of the painters where very very bad. At the end of the job I had to call Gary the owner to have people come back to fix two hallways and a bathroom where paint was everywhere, the toilet, the ceiling, other walls, uneven edges, a poorly done warped patch.
Two men did come to fix the problems and those two guys worked hard for 13 hours. In the end, most stuff was fixed, not everything, I still have some edges to fix and some green paint on a grey wall, I paid them the remaining balance and was happy to never see anyone from this company again. A couple of weeks after the job I was in a tragic plane crash and lost my four year old daughter and my father, Gary called while I was in the hospital and harassed my husband about this review in the end I believe my husband had to hang up on him after asking Gary to leave us alone. So here is my update. I would really recommend using anyone other than these painters, it was a most unpleasant experience.

I called them a few weeks ago because I needed some drywall repair. I was told to email Gary B and they provided me with his email address (which is on their website and I verified I sent it to the right one). I sent the image of the damage and gave him all the information needed. Did I get a reply? No, nothing. I hate giving low ratings, but I also hate when companies don't at least acknowledge you.

Asked to come out and estimate a new drywall ceiling installation and smooth the walls on common area. all we heard was, 'will cost you several thousands of dollars'. We have a thing called "Google" now days. homeowners are not naive or stupid anymore. Didn't even bother to measure anything and just focused on "will cost you several thousands." Give me a break.

The work was fine, but if you use these folks - you really need to be aware that you're paying by the hour, that means slow, slow, slow. What was estimated as a $400 job actually turned out to be over $700. You pay for EVERYTHING. They go to the store (and take a really long time) and they charge for the bucket they'll use (and keep), rags they use (and keep) - absolutely everything.
