My appointment was scheduled from 10:00 am. The technicians did not arrive to work on the property until 5:30 pm. They were there until 9:00 pm. Not once did anyone from the company call to inform me of changed schedule; which meant I had to find accommodations for my tenants. When I called the next day, I was told it was my problem and that was the end of the conversation. The tub they redid looks very nice, but the caulk job is poorly done. There were gaps in the caulk and it was not smoothly completed. Disappointment all around.

The Tub Doctors installed a surround and refinished our cast iron tub from purple to white. Just from those changes, our bathroom seems like it has transformed. We were very impressed with their service. What made us decide to go with them was their fast, no BS quote. They just came in, looked at it, and told us the price for what we wanted done without trying to upsell us.
We had two other companies come in that spent over an hour trying to sell me their products. Tub Doctors spent just a few minutes, I felt like they valued my time more. The price was also far more reasonable than quotes we got from other places.

I have never given any company such a low rating but I cannot give lower than 1 star. I am 100% frustrated and disappointed with my experience with Vicki and The Tub Doctors. I will never use this company again and will advise anyone who mentions them to run! I received a very hard to get VA grant to make my bathroom ADA compliant. I have a spinal injury that unpredictably affects my mobility.
I sat twice with Vicki to explain my needs, the grant, and make choices to create a bid. I explained I had no experience and was trusting hers. She talked the good talk but sold me garbage. My funds were limited so I was very interested in saving as much as I could. As a result of that, she failed to inform me that some of my decisions would result in the final product not meeting my needs.
In the end, I was left with a barrier free shower that had a removable barrier that's a trip hazard, a bench that extended beyond the shower so there was water everywhere, a hand-held that wasn't mounted, and the water controls were left down in the tub position where I could not easily reach them when struggling with spinal issues. When I questioned the final product, I basically got the old, "that's what you ordered." I had to pay (remember, I got a grant because I couldn't pay) to get the issues corrected since, "you never asked for those things and, as it is, I'll have to eat the cost of the bench"! Now, after paying what I could and making some negotiations to leave key features out (in an effort to have the grant cover the costs), I have a barrier free shower with a trip hazard removable barrier, a slip hazard floor that I'm almost afraid to stand on, and no bench (a concession I made to lower the amount she wanted from me to the fix the problems). Essentially, I didn't get what I wanted or needed.
I didn't get the information to make accurate decisions. I didn't get the respect I should have gotten given I was relying on Vicki to sell me the best I could afford. You almost need a lawyer to contract this company. The workers were great but they can't make up for the lousy sales techniques used to reign in customers. If you're using a grant, borrowed money, limited information or experience, or have special needs. RUN or you'll need a real doctor!

The project started out as a standard price to refinish my bathtub, a couple of hours into the job, they called me wanting more money. They said they were spending too much time, they recommended putting in a liner instead. Terrible service. Have them look at the job first, before they start the job. I do not recommend them however.

Currently working on our bathroom, they say the process is 6-8 days but what they do not tell you is that your lucky to have a contractor in your home for any more than 4 hours on any given day. We are on day 5 right now on a 5X9 bathroom it was a complete gut and redo but my husband and I did 95% of the gut ourselves, I am not complaining about the quality of work but it would be nice if they worked full days and maybe I would have been looking at a completed bathroom this weekend.
I have had a lot of contractors in my home over the past week on other projects(trying to maximize our time off), and so far they are running laps around the time it takes to get there work done vs. tub doctors, yes something's need to cure but other parts could be worked on while waiting. Things are looking nice so far, looking forward to a finished product. - The more they did the worse it got, the drywall work is subpar for a professional doing it I should have somewhat smooth walls, my husband whom is learning as he goes could have done better if my husband and I knew then what we know now we would have taken up the challenge ourselves and hired out for just the tub installation, Husband is busy correcting things we thought would have been completed for us. no one (contractors and scheduler)knows what the other is doing, it was like pulling teeth to get answers and most of the time the answers were not correct.
I will not recommend them to anyone. Its paid for, what I got was expensive for what I received but as someone mentioned in a previous comment, you get what you pay for and maybe I should have looked more at one of the higher price quotes I received vs. this one. Please learn from my mistake.

Worst experience I have ever had. They were to refinish our tub. The first day they came and seemed great. Thorough. Guys were nice. Taped off the bathroom well so mess didn't get everywhere. They came the next day to chalk and change drain. Things went down hill from there. Mine chalk line would have been cleaner. There were chips in the finish. The guy didn't have the correct screws for the drain.
We are now missing a shower tile. No one knows where it went. I've been contacting them for 2 weeks to fix this and fix the finish I don't like. In the meantime the shower is leaking into our kitchen below. Great. Trying to get someone out to fix now is like pulling teeth. Worst experience ever.

I think overall they do a good job. If they do mess something up, they will go back and take care of it. The prices seem a little high. I've had a job done from them recently, which had a bunch of paint runs in it. They went back and sanded, but you could still see where they were. The guy also left all the paper and tape all over the tub which I had to remove and clean the tub before the showing.

The good stuff: - Quick estimates: The Tub Doctors was at our home to provide an estimate within a few days of my call. I had an estimate before they left my house. The estimate included all labor, parts, materials, permits, etc. - Price: Comparable, if not cheaper than other estimates. - Family owned, locally owned. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Financing options available.
Good rating on Better Business Bureau. The not as great stuff: - I wasn't confident the estimate was thorough. We needed a large run of pipe replaced in the basement, which all other contractors told us would include extra cost of $700-$800. The Tub Doctors didn't want to even look at the basement piping, even though I brought up the issue at least twice. - I don't get the impression that this is the place to go if you want a high-quality, custom, bathroom remodel. You get what you pay for and this feels like it may be a little bit on the cheap.
